Lasting Legacies’ Privacy Policy (last updated 5.24.2018)

Lasting Legacies (“Lasting Legacies“) at https://www.lasting-legacies.net respects your privacy and has taken steps to safeguard your information. This policy was written to explain what information we may collect from you, why we collect it and how we use it. You are encouraged to read the following information carefully.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Lasting Legacies collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Lasting Legacies’ purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Lasting Legacies’ visitors use its website. From time to time, Lasting Legacies may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Lasting Legacies also collects potentially personally identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on lasting-legacies.net blogs/sites. Lasting Legacies only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that commenter IP addresses and email addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog/site where the comment was left.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Lasting Legacies’ websites choose to interact with Lasting Legacies in ways that require Lasting Legacies to gather personally identifying information. The amount and type of information that Lasting Legacies gathers depends on the nature of the interaction.

For example, we ask visitors who sign up for one of our resources at lasting-legacies.net to provide a name (or username) and email address. Those who engage in transactions with Lasting Legacies are asked to provide additional information, which may include telephone numbers for consultations and, as necessary, the personal and financial information required to process purchase transactions.

In each case, Lasting Legacies collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Lasting Legacies. Lasting Legacies does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

All personally identifying information is voluntarily provided by visitors who elect to receive one of our resources, products, or services. Visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from receiving resources or engaging in certain website-related activities.

Lasting Legacies does not collect any personally identifying information without each visitor’s consent, whether it is through our website or one of our social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter). If visitors choose to interact with Lasting Legacies via social media, we may collect the personal information visitors elect to provide, which may include the visitors’ profile names. Note that Lasting Legacies abides by the privacy policies of each of the aforementioned social media sites and only collects and stores personal data as permitted by them.

When visitors arrive at Lasting Legacies’ website after clicking a link from another site (someone else’s blog, website, social media platform), such personally identifiable information as the visitors’ IP address and country of origin may be collected and stored by the company/individual that owns the blog/website/social media platform that contained the link, as well as Lasting Legacies. Lasting Legacies is not responsible for the privacy of visitors’ information stored by those other companies/individuals.

Aggregated Statistics

Lasting Legacies may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. To accomplish this, Lasting Legacies may opt to use Google Analytics and Google AdWords to obtain reports that analyze website visitor behavior and trends. Lasting Legacies may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Lasting Legacies does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. View Google’s privacy policy here and if you do not wish to be included in Google Analytics’ anonymous, aggregate reports, you may opt out.
